The ATO confirmed that PRIDA now has DGR status from the 14th October 2025. This is a real boon for us in terms of our potential to raise funds for PRIDA. The Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status is now reflected onto the Australian Business Register .

After much work to establish the required governance systems (see our official document list for examples), the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission has recently endorsed our application to register as a charity.   We have had to put in place the governance requirements - please see our operational documents under the About tab. 

We are very excited by this development as it will eventually enable us to obtain deductible gift recipient (DGR) status from the Australian Tax Office. This will allow donors to fully tax deduct their donations.

Three PRIDA members will spend November 14th in Brisbane at an event called Project Management Day of Service. We will be assisted by two volunteer consultants and will be aiming to develop a coherent fund-raising strategy for PRIDA.  Having tax deductibility will definitely increase our chances of success with this. Stay tuned!
